The Crookston City Council and Ways and Means Committee will both meet on Monday, August 17, at 5:30 p.m. at the City Hall Council Chambers.
CITY COUNCIL –
The council meeting will start with the swearing in of new Police Officer Colby Wooten.
The consent agenda includes approval of the City Council meeting minutes from August 3, approval of bills, and the disbursement of $462,388.14, and approval of the sixth payment to Gustafson and Goudge, Inc. for the 2025 Crookston Airport Hangar construction. The consent agenda also includes approval of temporary construction easements for the Broadway and Main Avenue ADA retrofit and concrete pavement repair project; renewal of a 2:00 a.m. liquor license for Crooks Club; and approval of a commercial rehabilitation loan program and mortgage satisfaction for the property owned by L&T Properties, LLC.
The Regular Agenda includes a resolution declaring a portion of city-owned parcel 92 as surplus property and authorizing its sale and conveyance to the State of Minnesota for highway improvements associated with a state project, and another resolution certifying that unpaid charges for the North Acres Mobile Home Park and the Carmen Terrace Mobile Home Park are more than 45 days delinquent in the payment of its municipal water utility service.
WAYS AND MEANS COMMITTEE
The Crookston Ways and Means Committee (City Council/Mayor/Department Heads) will meet immediately after the council meeting. The first item on the agenda is the Crookston Public Library budget. The second item is the review and discussion of the non-profit grant applications. A total of $182,000 is requested by non-profits. The Crookston Area Seniors Association (Golden Link) is requesting $97,000, the Care and Share and Scruffy Tails Humane Society are both requesting $20,000 each, Tri-Valley Opportunity Council is requesting $19,000, Benedictine Living Community and Oakdale Cemetery Association are both requesting $10,000, and Ox Cart Days is requesting $6,000.
