Crookston Community Education will offer their first childcare clinic of the year on Saturday, November 3 from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. in the Washington School cafeteria. The clinic is open to students age 11 to 13.
Students that take the course will receive guidance from a childcare expert, a kindergarten teacher, a nurse and a firefighter with assistance from the Leo Club.
“They learn throughout the course from a childcare expert who knows how to handle difficult behaviors or plan fun activities,” said Denice Oliver, director of Community Education. “There are a lot of really important skills people will learn and it really does help to provide a safer environment when going out to get a first babysitting job.”
Students will leave the class with a babysitting certificate they can show to parents they will babysit for. The class costs $17 and includes certification, a book, handouts, and a pizza lunch. Call 281-5078 to register.
