Crookston Girls Golf finishes 3rd at Park Rapids Invite

The Crookston Pirate Girls Golf team shot a 375 and finished third place out of 16 teams at the Park Rapids Invitational at the Headwaters Golf Course. Detroit Lakes won the meet with an outstanding 318, 36 strokes better than runner-up Roseau.
Crookston was led by Halle Nicholas with an 87, while the medalist was Detroit Lakes’ Jaycie Sliper with a one-over 73, seven strokes better than the runner-up.

CROOKSTON –
Halle Nicholas, a senior, shot an 87 to finish 12th place. She recorded eight pars, seven bogies, two double bogies, and one quadruple bogey.
Emelia Hoerner, a senior, shot a 94 to finish in 17th place. She had two pars, 11 bogies, four double bogies, and one triple bogey.
Ava Martin, a senior, shot a 96 to finish 22nd place. She carded one birdie, three pars, six bogies, five double bogies, and one triple bogey.
Makenna Peterson, a freshman, shot a 98 to finish 26th place. She had one par, three bogies, four double bogies, and one triple bogey.
Elsie Mathews, an eighth grader, shot a 114 to finish 53rd. She had two pars, four bogies, three double bogies, five triple bogies, three quadruple bogies, and one five over par.
Taylor Wieland, a senior, shot a 115 to finish 56th place. She had one par, three bogies, eight double bogies, three triple bogies, one quadruple bogey, one five over and one six over par.
