CROOKSTON GIRLS TRACK FINISH 2ND, BOYS FINISH 8TH AT SUB-SECTION TRACK MEET

The Crookston Pirate Girls Track and Field team finished second out of 11 teams and will advance eight girls in 10 events to the Section 8A meet and the Pirate Boys finished eighth out of 11 teams and will advance five individuals in four events after the Section 8A West Sub-section meet in Warren.

The top five placers in each individual event will advance to the Section 8A meet and the top three relay teams automatically advance to the Section 8A meet.
For the athletes not in the top five individually, the next six best times/throws/jumps between the two sub-sections will also advance.  We won’t find that out until later tonight or Friday morning.

GIRLS –
Crookston was led, once again, by Breanna Kressin with three first-place finishes.  Breanna easily won the 100-meter hurdles, the 300-meter hurdles, and the 200-meter races.   She alone earned 30 points for her team.

Cassie Solheim is also advancing to the Section 8A meet in three events.  She finished second place in the 100 meters, second place in the long jump, and was also on the second-place 4×100 relay team with Halle Winjum, Makayla Tahran, and Carly Thode.

Halle Winjum is also advancing in three events with a third-place finish in the pole vault, she was on the second-place 4×100 relay team, and the third-place 4×200 relay team.

Hayden Winjum will also advance to sections in three events.  She finished fourth place in the Triple Jump, fifth place in the 800-meters, and she was on the third-place 4×200 relay team.

BOYS –
The Pirate Boys were led by Ethan Boll, Brady Wisk, and Carter Coauette as they will be advancing in two events apiece.

Boll finished fourth in the 100 meters and he was also on the second-place 4×100 relay team.

Brady Wisk finished fourth place in the 200-meters and he was also on the second-place 4×100 relay team.

Carter Coauette finished fifth place in the 200 meters and he was also on the 4×100 relay team.

Thor Harbott had a second-place finish in the 1600-meters and he also finished sixth place in the 3200-meters.  He advances in the 1600 and is pretty much assured he will advance in the 3200 as a wild card.
