CROOKSTON HIGH SCHOOL TO CELEBRATE HOMECOMING WEEK THIS WEEK

Crookston High School will be celebrating homecoming and all the weekday events this week from October 2 to October 6. The Coronation of the King and Queen will take place on Monday, October 2, at 1:00 p.m. in the Crookston High School Auditorium. The candidates for Homecoming King and Queen are-

Queen canidates- Coral Brekken, Morgan Nelson, Isabelle Smith, Brekken Tull, and Halle Winjum.
King candidates- Carter Trudeau, Jackson Reese, Brannon Tangquist, Isaac Thomforde, and Carter Coauette.

The first event of the homecoming festivities seems to be popular with the students, the occasion being pajama day. Students can attend school all day in their pajamas (within the CHS dress code).

The girl’s Powder Puff football game is also one of the highlighted events. This event is for girls in grades 9-12, coached by CHS football players. “We have a lot more students watching the games,” said Student Council Advisor Linda Morgan, “We even have parents come to watch the games.” The Powderpuff football game will occur on Wednesday, October 4, at 1:00 p.m.

Morgan also talked about the importance of students participating in homecoming events. Homecoming is a great time to be social, make memories, and express school spirit. “It’s fun; go and take pride in your school,” said Morgan, “It doesn’t matter who you are within your classes or your grade. Take pride in your school and participate in the days of the week. Try to have fun because high school only comes once.”
