The Crookston Clay Target Team finished its fall season last week, placing third out of eight teams in the conference. The conference was won by Osakis with a five-week total of 2918.5 points.
“The weather was a bit windy, and we had a few challenges adapting to the wind. The scores dropped a little, but we still held on to our lead and finished third in our conference,” said Crookston Coach Randy Prudhomme. “We also had both Elijah Hoppe and Allison Abeld finish out strong at second place for conference male and female averages. They both shot very well with very consistent scores, which is great. They also did a great job leading the team to our third-place standing in the conference. It was also nice seeing four of our students being in the top 25 in the conference with males and females combined, and all of our Varsity shooters being in the top 50.”
The Crookston Clay Target team awards banquet is on November 4. The team will get ready for the spring season. “Hopefully, we can continue our at-home drills during the winter in between school and winter sports so we can hit the ground running and get a strong early lead in the conference,” said Coach Prudhomme.
