Crookston Pirate PAC Meeting is August 1

The 2018-19 Crookston Pirate Fall sports PAC (parent-athlete-coach) meeting will be tonight (Wednesday, August 1 at 7:00 p.m. in the Crookston High School Auditorium.  The sidewalk in front of the main entrance isn’t finished so parents and athletes are asked to use door 31.  “We found out the sidewalk won’t be done at the main entrance,” said Crookston High School Activities Director Greg Garmen. “We will have people park in the main lot and go in door 31, the back door of the auditorium, on the west side of the building.”
Garmen will present general information and after that parents and players will have meetings with their specific sports coaches.  “It is our time for me to go over general information on how to register, where to find schedules, on eligibility, our trainer Lukas Biermaier will be there and have the concussion test and a sign up for the IMPACT test with RiverView.  I will go over eligibility rules are for grading and other high school league violations.  After I am finished, they will go to their respective sport and meet with their coach and the coaches will have all the team information for the student-athlete.”  If you will be playing a sport. Students need a sports physical every three years, typically going into 7th grade and going into 10th grade. If you aren’t sure if you need a physical, you can call the school. (Riverview is providing free physicals on August 7 and Altru Clinic is offering physicals and they will give the money from the physicals back to the school). Players need a physical completed before starting practice.
Online registration for sports will open on August 1 at www.crookstonactivities.com (This will be explained at the meeting if you have questions).
Fees are $125 for 9-12 sports and $75 for 7th and 8th grade. All paperwork must be filled out online. Fees are paid online with a credit card or by cash or check in the office.
