The Crookston School Board will have three spots up for election, and anyone interested in running can file at the Crookston School District Office between Tuesday, July 30, and Tuesday, August 13.
The general election will be held on Tuesday, November 5, 2024. At that election, three members will be elected to the School Board for terms of four years each.
The four-year terms expiring are Frank Fee, Dave Davidson, and Mike Theis.
Affidavits of Candidacy are available at the Crookston School District Office at the Crookston High School. “A school board candidate must be an eligible voter, a resident of District 593, and 21 years of age or older when assuming office,” said Crookston School District Office Coordinator Marilyn Wahouske, “You would assume office in January, and the Election is held on November 5. There is a $2 filing fee, and if you’re interested, come in and see me at the District Office at Crookston High School. You will have to fill out an affidavit of candidacy. It’s just one page and fill out your name, address, and email.”
One other requirement for running is you have no other affidavit on file for any other office at the same primary or next ensuing general election.
The affidavits of candidacy must be filed in the school district clerk’s office, and the filing fee must be paid by 5:00 p.m. on August 13, 2024. The district office will be open Monday through Thursday from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
