FOUR PIRATE GOLFERS FINISH FIRST ROUND OF SECTION TOURNEY

Crookston Pirate Golfers Garrett Fischer, Kaylie Clauson, Grace Fischer, and Georgia Sanders are competing in the Section 8AA Golf Tournament in Bemidji on at the Town and Country Course on the north shore of Lake Bemidji. The tournament is a two-day tournament,s with the first round held on Monday.

PIRATE GIRLS-
Kaylie Clauson, a sophomore, led the Pirate trio with a 95 in the first round of the tournament. Kaylie had three pars, nine bogies, four double bogies, and two triple bogies. She shot a 49 on the front nine and a 46 on the back nine. She is currently in 17th place and seven strokes off the fifth individual score to advance to state.

Grace Fischer, a senior, shot a 98. She had four pars, five bogies, six double bogies, and three triple bogies. Grace was consistent with a 49 on the front nine and a 49 on the back nine. She is in 23rd place.

Georgia Sanders, a sophomore, shot a 105 in her first-ever section tournament round. She had one par, nine bogies, three double bogies, two triple bogies, and three quadruple bogies. She is in 34th place.

PIRATE BOYS-
Garrett Fischer, a freshman, shot an 80 and had a good first round with three birdies. The birdies were on the par four 314-yard third hole, the par three 193-yard hole 11, and the par four 354-yard 17th hole. He also had seven pars, five bogies, and three double bogies. He is currently in 13th place and only three strokes behind the fifth and final individual spot for a trip to state.
