Francine Joyce Lunde, 79, Detroit Lakes, MN, formerly of Halstad, MN, passed peacefully on Friday, August 13, 2021, at her home in Detroit Lakes from heart complications. Even a heart of gold can’t beat forever. 
Francine was born on April 28, 1942, to Frantz and Goldie Venable, in Okemah, OK. After high school, she met Stan Lunde while he was stationed at Fort Sill in Lawton, OK. They were married on January 10, 1964, and returned to Minnesota, where the extended Lunde family welcomed Francine with open arms. They raised three children, Sheila, Clint, and Heath on their family farm near Halstad, MN.
Francine was a loving wife and mother, with a tender heart, soft words, and a kind soul. She worked at the Rural Electric Cooperative in Halstad for 33 years, retiring in 1997 when she and Stan moved to Oklahoma to spend time with her mother and sister. She was always an Okie at heart, and still loved her father’s favorite football team, the OU Sooners. After an injury in 2013, she returned to Minnesota and spent more time playing Bump and other games with her children and grandchildren.
Francine is survived by her daughter, Sheila Longfors; sons, Clint Lunde (Christina Johnson), and Heath (Veronica) Lunde; grandsons, Justin Longfors, and Darin (Anne), Tony and Connor Lunde; younger sister, Tammy Ives; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Stanley (Stub) Lunde; parents, Frantz and Goldie Venable; and dear friends, Pat Croker, and Martin and Verna Hawkins.
Celebration of Life: 2:00 PM, Sunday, August 22, 2021 at Fredrikson-Ganje Funeral Home, Halstad, MN.
Visitation: One hour before the memorial service at the funeral home.
Inurnment: Halstad Lutheran North Cemetery, Halstad, MN.
