GOVERNOR-ELECT TIM WALZ TO VISIT CROOKSTON

Today, Governor-elect Tim Walz and Lieutenant Governor-elect Peggy Flanagan will launch a five-day “One Minnesota” statewide listening tour. They will travel to all four corners of the state asking Minnesotans what values, perspectives, and leadership characteristics they hope to see in their commissioners and Administration.
The tour will stop in Crookston on Saturday morning at 11:30 a.m. at Cofe`. Crookston City Administrator Shannon Stassen told KROX by email that Walz’ transition team had called City Hall to notify them.  Stassen includes a public invite to the event, “The public is cordially invited to attend and discuss concerns and opportunities for the administration relating to Greater Minnesota.”
State legislators on both sides of the aisle have also been invited to attend.
“One Minnesota is more than a campaign slogan, it’s a way of governing,” Walz said. “From Luverne to La Crescent to Hallock to Grand Portage, we will travel to all four corners of the state to seek input from Minnesotans on what they hope for from our Administration. When the outcomes of an election turn out differently than someone wished, they tend to feel like their voice won’t matter. That won’t be the case in our Administration. Everybody’s voice matters to us.”
“Every Minnesotan deserves a seat at the table and an opportunity to have their voice heard,” Flanagan said. “We want to make sure everyone has a chance to be a part of the process in helping our Administration make the best decision on who will lead our state agencies. Governor-elect Walz and I look forward to hearing the priorities Minnesotans have when it comes to how state government works for them.”
As Governor-elect Walz and Lieutenant Governor-elect Flanagan tour the state to listen to Minnesotans about the issues most important to them, candidates for leadership positions within the Executive Branch are encouraged to submit their application materials at mn.gov/tim-walz/careers by the December 7 deadline.
