IAFF FIRE FIGHTERS SUPPORT MUSCULAR DYSTROPHY ASSOCIATION WITH THEIR ANNUAL FILL THE BOOT DRIVE

For almost 70 years, the International Association of Fire Fighters (IAFF) has collected critical funds in the community one dollar at a time as part of the Fill the Boot program. The Grand Forks Fire Department Local 242 will continue this long-standing tradition as its members kick off their annual Fill the Boot program to raise critical funds to help transform the lives of kids and adults with muscular dystrophy, ALS, and related muscle-debilitating diseases.

Donations help MDA continue services for more than 250,000 people with neuromuscular diseases nationwide and help fund life-saving research. To date, over 20 treatments have been approved to help treat several forms of neuromuscular disease, which wouldn’t be possible without the support of the firefighters.

Dedicated firefighters from Grand Forks Fire Department Local 242 will hit the streets with boots in hand, asking pedestrians, motorists, customers, and other passersby to donate to MDA on September 19, 20, and 21 from 3:15 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at the following locations-

Tuesday, September 19- 4th Ave S and Belmont Rd

Wednesday, September 20- South 20th St and 40th Ave

Thursday, September 21- 47th Ave S and Cherry Street

“Grand Forks Fire displays unwavering support for MDA year after year, raising critical funds and awareness to help our families get the care they need, and quote, says Regional Director of Fire Fighter Partnerships, Elizabeth Nelson. And quote are so thankful for their continued commitment to cure neuromuscular diseases and protect everyone on our community’s frontlines.”
