ICE STORM WARNING ISSUED UNTIL MIDNIGHT TONIGHT, NO TRAVEL IS STRONGLY ENCOURAGED

The National Weather Service in Grand Forks, North Dakota, has issued an Ice Storm Warning for West Polk County and Eastern North Dakota. The warning includes the cities of Crookston, East Grand Forks, Lakota, Mcville, Aneta, Tolna, Grand Forks, Cooperstown, Finley, Hope, Mayville, Hillsboro, Kelso, Hatton, Portland, and Roseville.

* WHAT…Significant icing. Additional ice accumulations up to two-tenths of an inch.

* WHERE…Portions of northwest Minnesota and northeast and southeast North Dakota.

* WHEN…Until midnight CST tonight.

* IMPACTS…Power outages and tree damage are likely due to the ice. Travel will be very difficult to nearly impossible. The hazardous conditions will impact the evening commute.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS… Travel is strongly discouraged. If you must travel, keep an extra flashlight, food, and water in your vehicle in case of an emergency. Prepare for possible power outages.
