ISAAC THOMFORDE LOSES TWO THREE-SETTERS AT STATE TENNIS

Crookston Pirate Boys Tennis Senior Isaac Thomforde won the Section 8A Boys Tennis Singles championship and received the #3 seed at the Minnesota Class A Singles State Tournament played at Reed-Sweatt Tennis Center in Minneapolis on Thursday, 

Isaac’s first-round match was against Patrick Green of the Breck School. Isaac had a great start, winning the first set 6-4, but lost the next two sets 6-1, 6-1 and moved to the consolation bracket. 
In the Consolation round, in a loser-out match, Isaac took on Payton Marks of Rock Ridge. Isaac lost the first set 6-0 and won the second set 6-1 to force a third set. In the consolation round, they play a super tie-breaker. It was a back-and-forth battle, but Isaac came up short in a 10-8 loss and was eliminated. 

Isaac wraps up the year with a 25-4 record and also finishes his high school career.
