Kevin Violette – Obit

Kevin Violette, 57 of Red Lake Falls, MN passed away suddenly on Saturday, October 15, 2022, at Riverview Medical Center in Crookston, MN.

The visitation to honor Kevin’s life will be held from 3:00 PM until 7:00 PM with a 6:00 PM Prayer Service on Tuesday, October 25, 2022, at Johnson Funeral Service in Red Lake Falls, MN. Father Bob Schreiner will preside.

Kevin Violette was born June 15, 1965, in Red Lake Falls, MN the son of Frederick and Harriet Marie (Schmidt) Violette. He was baptized and confirmed at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Red Lake Falls. He was blessed with four brothers and two sisters, and Kevin always looked to them for help and advice. Kevin attended St. Joseph’s Catholic School through the 6th grade, graduating from Lafayette High School with the class of 1984. While in high school, Kevin was very active in hockey.

Following high school, he worked for area farmers before going to work for Marlin Matheny setting up manufactured homes. Later, Kevin purchased the business which he owned and operated for several years. Since 2007, he has worked at Homark Inc. in Red Lake Falls as a Group Leader in the Window and Siding Departments.

He was active in the Red Lake Falls Blue Line Club as a coach for many years.

While living at the family farm, Kevin joined with his dad and brother Jim in rodeos and parades with their many horses.

Kevin enjoyed fishing and hunting with his brother Jim and nephew Kylar. He also enjoyed cutting wood, watching the MN Vikings, associating with friends at The Spot and American Legion Post 22, and sitting on his deck visiting with his family and friends.

Survivors include his father, Fred Violette; siblings, Wayne (Judy) Violette, Carol Violette, Dale “Snorky” (Lana) Violette, Mark (Lisa) Violette, James (Julie) Violette all of Red Lake Falls and Sally (Neal) Kapp of Anaheim, CA; and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, relatives and friends.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Harriet in 2012; several aunts, uncles, cousins; and his beloved companion cat, Miss Kitty.
