Lake Agassiz Regional Library will celebrate Audiobook Appreciation Month in June. The national observance celebrates the joy, accessibility, and growing impact of audiobooks. According to the American Libraries Magazine, 57% of people who listen to audiobooks say that they help them finish more books.
Local librarians will spend the month sharing their favorite listens and encouraging those who have not tried audiobooks to give them a try. Library cards are offered free of charge, and those interested in trying something new should consider stopping by their local library to check out an audiobook or downloading the free Libby app for access to thousands of downloadable eAudiobooks, which are available in seconds in the library system’s Digital Library.
For those looking for a little inspiration, a number of local libraries will have book club discussions in June, including Fertile on Wednesday, June 17 and Crookston’s Books and Brews at Drafts Sports Bar and Grill on Tuesday, June 23.
