Laura Jolly – Obit

Laura Ann Jolly, Laura Jolly98, of Red Lake Falls, MN passed away on Wednesday, May 20, 2020 at Hillcrest Nursing Home in Red Lake Falls, MN.

A gathering time for family and friends will be held from 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM on Friday, May 22, 2020 at Johnson Funeral Service in Red Lake Falls, MN. A graveside service will follow at 7:00 PM at St. Anthony Cemetery in Terrebonne, MN with Father Bob Schreiner presiding. CDC guidelines will be followed.

Laura Ann Gagner was born Sept. 8, 1921 at Brooks, MN to Louis and Elodia (Bergeron) Gagner. She was baptized and confirmed into the Catholic faith.

She married Vern Jolly on April 29, 1941 at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Terrebonne, MN. They lived and farmed near Brooks all their lives.

She loved flower & vegetable gardening, canning and spending time with her grandkids and great-grandkids. Laura also had a passion for sewing.

Laura was very independent and didn’t want to bother anybody. She was a sweet, little lady who loved her sweets and visiting over a good cup of coffee.

Laura was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church in Terrebonne until it closed and then became a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Red Lake Falls.

Survivors are:  her brother Dona Gagner and daughter in law Joyce Jolly, So. Beloit, Ill Tom Jolly (Sue Teske) of Milton, WI, Dan (Shirley) Jolly, Mentor, MN grandchildren Joe (Lisa) Jolly, Rockton, Ill, Jerry (Julie) Jolly, Geneva, Ill, Jeannie (Dan) Felton, Jefferson, WI, Jenny (Andy) Stilling , Orlando, FL, Paul Jolly, Edgerton, WI, Michael (Shannon) Jolly, Windsor, WI, Karlene (Tony) Greene Thief River Falls, MN,  Kristina (Tyler) Nelson, Oklee, MN and a bunch of great-children, nieces, nephews and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Vern Jolly in 1998, one son, James Jolly and grandson Jamie Jolly, brother Elmer Gagner, sisters Pauline Hill, and Beatrice Lanford.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to St. Joseph Catholic Church, Hillcrest Senior Living, Red Lake Falls or Hospice of the Red River Valley of the North.

We would like to thank all the staff at Hillcrest Senior Living and Hospice of the Red River Valley of the North on the exceptional care they gave to our mom and grandmother.
