Merlyn Ann Perreault 
of Red Lake Falls, MN passed away on Thursday, December 19, 2019 at her home in Red Lake Falls, MN.
Mass of Christian burial will be held on Monday, December 23, 2019 at 11:00 AM in St. Joseph Catholic Church in Red Lake Falls, MN with Father Bob Schreiner Officiating. Burial will be held at St. Anthony Catholic Cemetery at Terrebonne, MN.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, 5 – 8 PM with a 7:00 PM prayer service at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Red Lake Falls, MN, and also one hour prior to the service on Monday at the church.
Merlyn Ann Fredrickson was born to Chester and Ida (Westerlund) Fredrickson on March 4, 1932 at the rural family home in Gervais Township, Red Lake County, MN. She attended Pershing School in Plummer, MN graduating in 1950.
Merlyn was united in marriage to Vern L. Perreault on August 22, 1950, in Plummer, MN. The couple made their home on the Perreault family farm near Terrebonne. She was a farm wife and mother to six children. She also worked as a nursing assistant at St. John’s Hospital in Red Lake Falls.
Merlyn was a past member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, Terrebonne, MN, and an American Legion Auxiliary member and present member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Red Lake Falls, MN.
The couple enjoyed traveling and spending many winters in the southern states. Merlyn enjoyed quilting, crocheting, cooking, gardening and playing cards. Her biggest enjoyment was time spent with her children and families.
Merlyn is survived by her children: Dennis (Debra) Perreault of Grand Rapids, MN, Wayne (Patti) Perreault of Nashwauk, MN, Lyle (Diane) Perreault of Inver Grove Heights, MN, Mary (John) Kleven of Red Lake Falls, MN, Lori (Dan) Wavra of Red Lake Falls, MN, and Bruce (Gwen) Perreault of Moorhead, MN; grandchildren: Michelle (Clint) Lundeen, Ryan (Mollie) Burke, Renae (David) Caneday, Jacquelyn (Brian) Senske, Jennifer (Noah) Wahl, Nicole (Grant) Perreault-Bygd, Jolene (Jacob) Casey, Aaron Perreault, Laura (Travis) McDonald, Terese (Jeff) Amble, Christine Kleven, Karl (Carly) Kleven, Keith (Rebecca) Kleven, Matt Wavra, Katie (Travis) Seeger, Nick (Heidi) Wavra, Kimberly (Courtney) Wavra, Justin Perreault, and Jenna Perreault; great-grandchildren: Brodie and Brylie Burke, Anna, Owen and Megan Caneday, Logan, Bennett, Kellen, and Brynn Senske, Cooper, Sawyer, and Kennedy Wahl, Sophia and Evelyn “Evie” Casey, Norah and Amelia Amble, Marielle McDonald, Kole, Lane and Kayla Kleven, Beau, Cruz and Hailee Wavra, Hope and Ava Wavra, and Tre, Mataya and Mason Seeger, Oaklyn and Finley Wavra; siblings Gladys Amundson of Erskine, MN, Clarice Wilcox of Fargo, ND; sister-in-law Karen Thygeson of Thief River Falls, MN; along with many nieces and nephews.
Merlyn is preceded in death by her parents, husband Vern in 2011, brother Floyd Fredrickson, infant brother, great-grandsons Tate and Tyson Seeger.
In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials are sent to St. Anthony’s Cemetery fund.
