Michael J. “Mike” Gnadt, 67, Ada, MN, died unexpectedly on Sunday, October 20, 2019, in his home.
Mike was born April 5, 1952, in Ada, the son of Laurence and Orlaine (Thomforde) Gnadt. He was baptized at First English Lutheran Church in Lockhart, MN, and graduated from Ada High School.
Mike worked as an electrician in Ada for a number of years and also in Grand Forks. He had worked for Hanson Farms for several years and more recently with Johnson Farms. He really enjoyed those farming years especially during the harvest season. He valued the countryside and appreciated working the land.
Mike enjoyed socializing with friends. His caring spirit was evident by the time he took to always lend a hand to anyone that might need help. He loved spending time with his family, especially his little great nieces and nephews and sharing with them Reese’s peanut butter cups.
Mike is survived by his grandchildren, Blake and Brynn Plan; and siblings, Linda (Curtis) Parsons, Moorhead, MN, and LeRoy (Becky) Gnadt, of Ada, his uncle, Marvin (Ruth) Thomforde, Sturtevant, WI; his aunts: Darleen Peterson, Franksville, WI, Geraldine Thomforde, Melbourne, FL, and Pauline Thomforde, Spokane, WA; and several niece, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Brooke Plan; parents, Laurence and Orlaine; and a brother, Wade.
Memorial Service: 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 29, 2019, at Fredrikson-Ganje Funeral Home, Ada.
Visitation: One hour before the service at the funeral home.
Burial: Lockhart Pleasant View Cemetery, rural Ada, MN.
