Michael “Mike” Ray Peterson,
71, of Halstad, MN, passed away quietly on February 5, 2019, in the Halstad Living Center in Halstad, MN.
Mike was born in Fargo, ND, to Albert and Imogene (Reno) Peterson on January 20, 1948. He attended school in Halstad. He joined the Job Corps and traveled for a bit before meeting the love of his life. He married Carol Walker on March 16, 1970, in Fargo, ND.
Mike was a heavy equipment mechanic for most of his life. He worked for Swanston Equipment for a number of years before he gained employment with Northern Improvement. In 1986 he moved his family back to his home town and gained employment with Tran Systems, Inc.
If it had a motor, chances are he could make it run. He enjoyed motorcycles, racing, fishing, camping and family vacations. He loved to travel and spend time with his family and his grandchildren. He was a very hard worker and loved his wife and family. He was a kind man and could start a conversation with just about anyone. He loved to visit with friends.
Michael is survived by 3 children, Tonia (Lee) Johnson, Grandin, ND; Tera (Chris Jackson) Munter, and Michael Jr. (Rebecca) Peterson, both of Halstad, MN; along with 5 grandchildren, one brother, Lanny (Leslie) Peterson, Escondido, CA. He was preceded in death by his wife, Carol Ann, and his parents
Memorial Service: 2:00PM, Wednesday, February 13, 2019 at Fredrikson-Ganje Funeral Home, Halstad, MN.
Visitation: One hour before the service at the funeral home.
