Michele Stroot, age 64, of Red Lake Falls, MN, died on Friday, October 2, 2020, surrounded by her family at Sanford Medical Center in Fargo, ND.
Michele Joy Dahl was born on May 15, 1956, to the loving parents of David and Doris (Barnes) Dahl in Ada, MN. She was raised on the family farm east of Borup, MN. Growing up she helped on the farm with her large family and was active in the Jevnaker Lutheran Church. Michele graduated from the Borup High School with the class of 1974. After high school, she attended the Joseph’s School of Hair Design in Moorhead. She later made her home in Red Lake Falls, MN. Michele was blessed with three children. With Michele’s gift of caregiving, she was employed at the Hillcrest Nursing Home as a certified nursing assistant. Michele later retired, due to failing health.
Michele loved the outdoors. Spending time hunting, fishing, and going for long walks to take in nature. She did not like to wear shoes so was caught barefoot on her adventures a majority of the time. Michele also enjoyed doing cross-stitch work in her spare time. She was well known for being a prankster and playing jokes on her friends. Her infectious laugh will always be remembered by those who knew her. Michele’s great love and enjoyment came from the time she spent with her grandchildren.
Michele is survived by her three children: Krystal ( Jason Dennis) Zutz of Thief River Falls, MN, Miranda (Jordan Kilen) Zutz of Thief River Falls, MN, and Jamie Zutz of Hawley, MN; ten grandchildren: Alexis Dennis, Alison Dennis, Nicole Dennis, Brooklyn Kilen, Teagan Kilen, Abby Zutz, Dawson Zutz, Brayden Zutz, Colton Zutz, and Emma Zutz; four sisters: Dawn (Tom) Byers of Grand Forks, ND, Pamela (Scott) Revier of Rochester, MN, Melody (Peter) Aasness of Fergus Falls, MN, and Lois (Lance) Graff of West Fargo, ND; three brothers: Dean (Janet) Dahl of Breckenridge, MN, Joseph (Mary) Dahl of Thief River Falls, MN, and David Jr. “Rusty” (Brenda) Dahl of Ada, MN; a dear friend, Robert Sedorook of Fisher, MN.
She was preceded in death by her parents, David and Doris; and grandson, Christian Zutz.
Memorial Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 10, 2020, at Anderson Family Funeral Home in Twin Valley, MN. A Time of Gathering will be held one hour before the funeral. Inurnment will be at Jevnaker Lutheran Cemetery, rural Borup, MN.
All are welcome to attend. Following all Covid-19 safety protocols, social distancing will be practiced, and all must wear a mask to attend.
