The Crookston Pirates Girl’s swimming team fell 109-46 in a non-Section dual against Moorhead at the Crookston Community Swimming Pool.
The Pirates were led by a strong performance from Thea Oman. Oman won both the 100 and 200-freestyle events winning the 100 with a time of 1:04.44 and a 2:21.45 in the 200. In the 200-freestyle relay Fallon Johnson, Claire Oman, Madison Hoiland, and Thea Oman took first place with a time of 2:11.59. Madison Hoiland also took first place in the 100-breaststroke with a time of 1:29.16. Hoiland took second place in the 50-freestyle with a 30.81 finish. The 200-medley relay team of Mackenzie Aamoth, Madison Hoiland, Thea Oman, and Claire Oman finished in third place with a time of 2:29.21. Victoria Proulx was the last Pirate to reach the podium in the 100-butterfly with a third-place finish in a time of 1:44.08.
The Pirates return to the pool on Friday when Crookston competes in the North Border Conference Meet at Warroad beginning at 2:30 p.m.
