On Thursday, August 27, at approximately 4:15 p.m., officers of the Grand Forks Police Department were dispatched to the area of South Columbia Road and Knight Drive for a crash involving a pick-up truck and a motorcycle.
Officers arrived on scene to find that a 2018 Ford F-150 and a 2009 Yamaha motorcycle had collided at the intersection. The rider of the 2009 Yamaha motorcycle sustained incapacitating injuries. Officers on scene applied life-saving interventions, and the motorcyclist was transported to Altru for medical treatment. At this time, his condition is unknown. The motorcyclist was identified as Andrew Pfeiffer, 26, of Grand Forks.
The driver of the 2018 Ford F-150 was identified as Kyle Oberlin, 45. As a result of this crash, no injuries were sustained by Oberlin.
The cause of the crash is unknown and remains under active investigation. Anyone with information or who may have witnessed the incident is encouraged to contact the Grand Forks Police Department.
