Myrna Henrickson – OBIT

Myrna Henrickson passed away peacefully on October 15, 2023.  Her family was by her side during the last weeks of her life. Myrna was born on July 22, 1938 to Mildred and Henry Hanson of Crookston MN.  Myrna was the oldest of six kids, and is remembered as a “a great big sister”, making a positive impact on her brother and sisters.  She graduated from Crookston High School and shortly thereafter married Selmer Mykleseth.

Myrna and Selmer raised their 3 sons in Stephen MN.  She was active in First Lutheran Church, teaching Sunday School.  She worked selling Vanda Beauty products and did so well, she earned a car. Another job she took very seriously was her work with the ambulance crew. She later worked for Crookston Water Department and the phone company.  Myrna also made many lifelong friends while living in Stephen.

The most important role Myrna had in life was raising her three sons. The love that her sons have for her is a testament to the type of mom she was.

When she retired, she tapped into her creative side and learned to paint and used several mediums; water color, acrylic and pencil.  Her artwork will be cherished for years to come by her friends and family.

Myrna was preceded in death by her parents, Mildred and Henry Hanson. She is survived by her three sons, Jerry (Nancy) Moorhead, MN, Joel (Barb) Gilbert AZ, and Keith (Gina) East Grand Forks, MN.  Her siblings: Joyce Moehn of Springerville AZ, Dennis (Debbie) Hanson of Crookston MN, Delores (Charles) Szekacs of Springfield OH, Deb (Tom) Hirsh of Lake Oswego OR, and Denise (Merwin) Carlson of Moorhead, MN.  Grandchildren: Daniel, Kailey, Sara (Zach), Thomas, Eric, Julia, Kathryn (Austin), Krissy and Olivia.
