Napa Crookston Welding is celebrating the grand opening of their new location at 610 Old Highway 75 South on Thursday, July 23, from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Mike Nelson and his family own Napa Crookston Welding, which will be celebrating its 61st anniversary on Thursday, and they officially moved into this new facility three months ago. The new location allows the company to better serve the community with an expanded inventory and additional work areas. “The new facility is phenomenal,” said Nelson. “We remodeled the whole building. It’s damn near brand new, expanded most of our parts sections, every section of the trailing, the spray parts, the tillage. We’ve expanded on every section of it. So we have a lot more inventory to offer to the customers and the farmers.”
The grand opening event will feature food served from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., including burgers from B&E Meats and macaroni and cheese from Drafts Sports Bar and Grill, door prize giveaways, and the opportunity to tour the new building and save on select Napa products all weekend long. “We’re going to have 15 to 20% off of all Napa goods not on sale all day, and then we are going to extend it for Friday and Saturday,” explained Nelson. “So if you can’t get in tomorrow, we’re gonna keep the sale going for a couple of days to let you get a little more time to come in and purchase some inventory and see the new building.”.
The grand opening signifies a new chapter for Nelson and his family, as they can continue to provide quality parts and service to the people of Crookston and the surrounding area for generations to come. “Crookston has treated us well for 65 years now,” Nelson said. “My kids are back here, Sean and Carter Nelson. This will be like a fourth-generation deal. Larry Altringer and Orrin Halverson started it back in 1965, just Crookston Welding, and then 15 years later, they added the Napa side of it, and they’ve been going strong, and so the community has supported us well. We’re the only locally owned auto parts store here, and we give back to the community as much as we can, and we’ve done it through all the years, and so that they’re good to us, and we’re good to them, giving back to the community.”
