The Funeral Mass and Proceedings will be held on Saturday, June 15, 2019 at 11:00 AM presided by Father Bob Schreiner and Deacon John Bruggeman at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Red Lake Falls, MN followed by a reception in the church hall.  Interment immediately following Mass will be in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Red Lake Falls. The Holy Rosary and visitation with the family will be held prior to the Mass beginning at 10:00 AM at the church.

Carol Ann (Theroux) Proulx was born May 17, 1946 in Crookston, MN the 2nd daughter of 14 siblings born to Armand Theroux of Terrebonne, MN and Mae (Demarais) Theroux of Gentilly, MN. Carol was raised on the family farm in Terrebonne where she attended the primary school there with her siblings. Later on, when the Theroux family moved to Red Lake Falls, Carol attended Lafayette high School and worked at the Theroux Family Café there.

Upon graduation in 1964, she spent some time in Minneapolis, MN before moving to Texas where her future husband was stationed in the service. Carol was united in marriage to Daniel Gabirel Proulx of Argyle, MN on November 21 of 1968 in Sugarland, TX. Their union blessed them with 7 children, Matthew Daniel, Mark Antoine, Christine Bernadette, Mitchell Armond, Micah Gabriel, Martin Francis and Daniel Gabriel II all of whom were born in Houston, TX.

Carol worked as a secretary for the Exxon Oil Company while in Houston, as a wife and homemaker raising her family, as well as providing childcare and love to many other children, even to the extent of accepting a special daughter (Tammy Hill) and granddaughter (Jamie Johnson) into the Proulx family. Upon returning to Red Lake Falls, MN in 1994, Carol embraced being able to reunite with her siblings while she finished raising her family, working as a caregiver at Northwood Group Home and even furthering her education at Northland Community College in Thief River Falls, MN alongside her children, Micah, Mitchell and Christine.

Carol was touched by the grace of God’s beauty among us through little children’s faces, the flowers, birds, butterflies and her “hummers” of course.  Carol found pleasure and enjoyment in many of the simple things in life such as playing cards and bingo and visiting with her close friends and family. But most of all she loved and cherished the precious time spent with her 7 (8) children, 22 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren and many other extended family and wonderful friends.

Carol is survived by all of her children and their spouses, grandchildren & great-grandchildren, most of whom are from the Houston, TX area. Matthew Proulx (Donna – Ryan, Megan), Mark Proulx (Maria – Joshua, Heaven, Markie, Tiffany, Zachary – Hensley, Kasen), Christine Harmoning (Bill Spalding – Jayden, Jazmin, Jaykeb), Mitchell Proulx (Little Man, Nehemiah, Jobe), Micah Proulx (Crystal Chestelewitz – Samantha – Shelia, Kayleb), Martin Proulx (Gracie Rodriquez – Korrina, Tipfhany, Martyna, CarolAnn, Bella), Danny Proulx (Charity Rhode – Jenny Olson – Abby Joy, Gabriel, Alex), Special daughter Tammy Hill Hicks – Jamie Johnson. Special thank you to David Sellers “Paw-Paw” for his love and support of the family. Carol is also survived by her siblings, John Theroux of Minneapolis, Shirley Cameron of Floodwood, MN, Armond Jr (Shelley) Theroux of Albuquerque, NM and Timothy Theroux of Fosston, MN along with many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Armand and Mae Theroux, siblings Russell Theroux, Robert (Bob) Theroux, Raymond Theroux, Larry Theroux, Wayne Theroux, Marlene Theroux, Cathy Tollefson, Rosie Theroux and Danny Theroux.
