Pam Hopperstad, 67, passed away peacefully on May 28, 2026, after a courageous battle with advanced small cell lung cancer.
Pamela Dora Hopperstad was born January 22, 1959, in Minneapolis, Minnesota, to Webb Duane Fullmer Sr. and Janice Faye Wikstrand. She was raised in McIntosh, where she graduated from McIntosh-Winger High School in 1977 and was a cheerleader for the Scots. She continued her education at Bemidji Area Vocational- Technical Institute, earning her certification as a dental assistant.
Pam and Steve met on January 14th, 1978, at a dance in Clearbrook. Nine months later, the two were united in marriage on October 14th, 1978.
Pam worked throughout her life in a variety of roles, including as a dental assistant in Crookston and Fosston, at Audio Visual Wholesalers, Falls Building Center, and as an independent distributor of Gold Canyon Candles. She also held jobs in her earlier years at the Highlander in McIntosh and the McIntosh Bakery.
She was baptized in the Lutheran faith and confirmed at Salem Lutheran Church in McIntosh. She was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church in Red Lake Falls, the McIntosh VFW Auxiliary Post #6891, Oak Knolls Fore Ladies Only, and the Red Lake Falls Civic & Commerce.
Pam’s greatest joy was her family. She loved nothing more than hosting gatherings that brought everyone together, cheering on her boys, and spoiling her beloved grandbabies. She had a special gift for making every house feel like a warm and welcoming home, a reflection of her love for cooking, gardening, painting, crafting, and interior decorating. Whether she was playing board games and shaking dice, golfing, or enjoying the outdoors while camping, fishing, traveling, and spending time at the hunting cabin, Pam approached life with an open heart and a generous spirit.
Pam was a loving wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, sister, and friend whose kindness and love for her family defined her life. She loved deeply and wholeheartedly, always putting the people she cared about ahead of herself. Her greatest joy came from spending time with her family, especially her children and grandbabies, who meant everything to her.
She is survived by her husband, Steve Hopperstad; her sons, Erik (Lisa) Hopperstad and Brandon (Allyson) Hopperstad; her beloved grandchildren, Ella, Macy, Evan, Nora & Brita; her sister, Wendy (Tom) Reitmeier; her brothers-in-law, Rick (Viktoriya) Hopperstad and Kerry (Tracy) Hopperstad; her sisters-in-law, Bonnie (Ken) Oraskovich and Kris Lindstrom; along with many extended family members, relatives, and friends who will miss her dearly.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Webb Duane Fullmer Sr. and Janice Faye Wikstrand; her stepfather, Marvin Duane Wikstrand; her sister, Penny Faye Magnell; her brother, Webb Duane Fullmer Jr.; her uncle, Marvin Klemmetson; and her in-laws, Bonita Orlee and Per O. Hopperstad.
The reunion in Heaven with loved ones who passed before her is surely a beautiful one.
Pam’s memory will live on through the family and friends she loved so fiercely and the countless memories shared together.
A memorial service for Pam will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, June 8, 2026, at Bethany Lutheran Church in Red Lake Falls, MN, with Reverend Jonathan Dodson officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior. Burial will be held at Oak Grove Cemetery, rural Red Lake Falls, following the service.
