Peggy Krause – Obit

Margaret Lucile “Peggy” Krause, 84, of Minnetonka, MN and formerly of Crookston, MN, passed away Saturday afternoon, February 16, 2019, at the Legacy Care Home with her family at her side.Peggy Krause

Peggy, as she was affectionately known by her family and many friends, was born on June 24, 1934 in Fergus Falls, MN, the only child of William H. and Linda (Harmsen) Davenport. She was a 1952 graduate of Fergus Falls High School. On August 18, 1956 Peggy was united in marriage to Leroy Alvin Krause. The couple moved to Crookston and with the births of their 3 children: Bill, David, and Kathy, they became a wonderful, caring family. Over the years Peggy was employed at the Hobby Shop, Logan’s Clothing, and Bruun’s Clothing until her retirement. Her warm smile and gentle manner made her a customer favorite for so many people in Crookston and neighboring communities. Lee taught in the Crookston Public School System for over 43 years. After his passing on June 3, 1999, Peggy continued to make her home in Crookston until ill health created the need to move to Minnetonka in 2011 to be closer to her children. As a resident of Legacy Care Home for the past 7 years, it was only natural that Peggy would make many new friends.

Peggy was a longtime member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Crookston. She was a very loving wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend, and will be very much missed by all who were a part of her life.

Peggy leaves her 3 children: Bill Krause and wife, Julie, of Plymouth, MN, David Krause and wife, Kathy, of Rochester, MN, and Kathy Krause of Plymouth; 5 grandchildren: Justin (Leslie) Krause, Chelsea Krause (Brian Foley), and James, Anna, and Thomas Krause; and extended family. In addition to her beloved husband of 43 years, Lee, she was preceded in death by her parents, William and Linda Davenport. May God bless Peggy’s memory.

The funeral service for Margaret “Peggy” Krause will be held at 10:30 am, Saturday, February 23, 2019, at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Crookston with The Rev. Greg Isaacson, officiating. Visitation will be at the Stenshoel-Houske Funeral Home on Friday from 5-7:00 pm, with a 7:00 pm prayer service, and will continue at the church for one hour prior to the funeral. Interment will take place in the Oakdale Cemetery, Crookston, in the spring. The family would like to especially thank the staff of Legacy Care Home for the loving care they provided Peggy for the last 7 years.
