The Polk County Commissioners will meet Tuesday at 8:00 a.m. in the Commissioners Room at the Polk County Government Center. The commissioners will get several reports, including the monthly sheriff’s report, an annual report on the Minnesota Counties Intergovernmental Trust, and an annual report for the Sand Hill River Watershed District. They will also get a project status update on the North Country Food Bank building.
The Board will be asked to accept donations to the Polk County Sheriff’s Department from the Crookston Firefighter’s Association and Kim’s Kids. They’ll also be asked to approve and sign the 2019 State of Minnesota Annual County Boat & Water Safety Grant, to approve applying for and accepting funds from the Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Minnesota Center for Prevention, and a request to get assistance with writing the Federal Lands Access Program Grant application for the Highway Department.
The board will also consider a ditch maintenance request, the replace of a server for IT, and a roof replacement for the Human Service Center in East Grand Forks. Dan Driscoll, the chair for Keystone Township, will address the board concerning County Ditch 39. The board will be asked to fill an appraiser position in Property Records, the purchase of software for Property Records, and to approve a gambling permit for the North Country Horsemen to hold raffles at The Snow Sled Inn Bar & Grill.
Polk County Administrator Chuck Whiting will give the board a status update on the 2020 budget. And the meeting will conclude with a tour of the county landfill.
