The Red Lake County Sheriff’s Office had another busy week. The weeks call log is below –
On the afternoon of Sunday, July 31, a Red Lake County deputy stopped two juvenile males who were operating ATVs within the city of Plummer. The juvenile males were in violation of several ATV laws, including operating an ATV on a public roadway without having an approved training certificate and operating unregistered machines. The investigation report has been forwarded to the County Attorney and criminal charges will be considered. Both parties were brought to their residences and their parents were notified.
On the morning of Monday, August 2, the Red Lake County Sheriff’s Office received a report that a motorcycle had been stolen from a residence in Oklee. The motorcycle is a 2007 or 2008 Honda CFS 150 with black fenders and a red and white gas tank. The theft occurred sometime over the past couple of weeks. This report is still under investigation.
Also on August 2, the Pennington County Sheriff’s Office reported they had arrested Enoch Chevront Evenson (44) of Thief River Falls. Red Lake County held an active Felony warrant for Evenson. He was turned over to the Red Lake County Sheriff’s Office on Tuesday and he was taken to the jail in Crookston. He appeared in Court in Red Lake Falls on Wednesday and he remains in custody at the time of this release.
On the afternoon of Tuesday, August 3, the Red Lake County Sheriff’s Office received a report that an unoccupied vehicle was in the ditch, along County Road #1, east of Red Lake Falls. The vehicle was resting against a fence, causing it damage. The owner of the vehicle, Seth Ryan Ellefson (37) of Red Lake Falls, was contacted He claimed that he had a mechanical issue that caused the vehicle to leave the roadway and strike the fence. A crash report was completed and the repair costs for the damaged fence will be covered by Ellefson. He also claimed that he would get the vehicle removed as soon as he could. There were no injuries and no citations were issued.
On Tuesday afternoon, Eagle Square in Red Lake Falls reported a theft of property from their store. That report remains under investigation.
On Tuesday evening, Red Lake County law enforcement provided assistance to the Pennington County Sheriff’s Office at the pipeline right-of-way, near the Red Lake River north of St. Hilaire. That assistance was provided into Wednesday morning, as law enforcement continues to deal with anti-line 3 protestors and civil unrest.
On Wednesday evening, an Oklee resident reported that some kids took a sign from their yard. A Red Lake County deputy located the kids and they returned the sign. No criminal charges were filed.
Early Thursday, the Red Lake County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a domestic disturbance at a residence in Red Lake Falls. The involved parties were separated for the time being and no arrests were made. This case remains under investigation.
