Seventh Congressional District Republicans endorse Michelle Fischbach at the annual convention

On Saturday, April 25, 2026, the Seventh Congressional District (CD7) Republicans held their annual convention to endorse a Republican Congressional Candidate. The convention was attended by over 500 people, including delegates, alternates, guests, legislators, and
local and statewide Republican candidates.

The delegates voted to endorse Congresswoman Michelle Fischbach. In the last election, Congresswoman Fischbach previously outperformed President Donald J. Trump by over 5,000 votes in Congressional District Seven. “It is always great to see everyone from across the district, as well as so many statewide candidates, attend the convention,” said CD7 Chair Tiffany Lesmeister-Knott. “I am encouraged to see the delegation come together and endorse a strong candidate. I am confident that Congresswoman Michelle Fishbach will continue to represent the district well. With Michelle on the ballot, voter turnout will increase in our Republican district and it will help drive Republican victories in the statewide races this November!”

The body also discussed and approved resolutions for consideration for the State Party Platform. Many statewide candidates for governor, secretary of state, state auditor, and attorney general, and U.S. Senator, addressed the convention and asked for the delegates’ support at the Minnesota Republican State Convention, which will be held in Duluth at the end of May.

CD7 also hosted a training, which was open to the public, the day before the convention. Anthony Kern, from Turning Point Action, led a voter outreach training. He also spoke at the banquet that the committee hosted on Friday night. Over 200 guests attended the banquet.
