Steven Tronnes – Obit

Steven Douglas Tronnes, Steven Tronnes70, passed away after a brief battle with pancreatic cancer, on July 5, 2019, at the Living Center in Halstad, Minnesota, where he had been a resident for several years.

Steven was born in Ada, MN, on August 31, 1948. He was the first born son of Irvet and Dorothy Tronnes. He grew up in the Shelly/Nielsville area, and graduated from Climax High School in 1967.

Steven served in the military, with the United States Navy, from January 1968 – December 1969. He moved to Crookston, Mn. in the late 70’s. He worked for J.R. Simplot Company, and then for American Crystal Sugar Company, until his health forced him to retire.

Steven never married or had children. While a resident of the Halstad Living Center, he enjoyed playing Bingo, and keeping up with his favorite team, the Minnesota Vikings.

He was preceded in death by his parents Irvet and Dorothy, and a niece, Pamela Davis. He will be forever missed, by 2 sisters, and 2 brothers, Nancy (Larry) Nichols, of San Antonio, Texas, Gary (Louise) Tronnes, of Crookston, Mn, Randal (Grace) Tronnes, of Climax, Mn, and Corinne Miller of Tucson, Arizona, 3 nephews, 5 nieces, 16 great nieces and nephews, along with many other cousins, relatives, and friends.

Steven’s family would like to thank the Halstad Living Center for the friendship, security, and the loving care Steven was given while he lived there with them. Thanks also, to the Red River Valley Hospice for being there for him in his final days, and to the Fredrikson-Ganje Funeral Home for their kindness, help and service.

A memorial service for Steven will be held at a later date.
