Highland Elementary School has released the test scores from the 2022-23 school year, which show Highland School scoring above the state average in Mathematics and reading. Fifth and sixth-grade students from Highland Elementary School competed in the regional Math Masters of Minnesota Challenge in Bemidji. The fifth-grade team finished first place out of 25 teams.
