The Crookston Fire Department will train on Ice Rescue scenarios this evening starting at 6:30 P.M. They will utilize locations along the boat landings at Central Park and the Highway 75 bypass. Trucks and lights will be at these locations at various times, and we will be practicing real-time response once on the scene.

The Red Lake River’s crest earlier this month may have seemed mild, provisionally cresting at 6:30 p.m. on April 8 at 24.74 feet. That’s just outside a top 10 river crest. It was, however, a 10-year flood according to the flow of water, said Blake Carlson, the City of Crookston’s engineer with Widseth Smith Nolting.
Beginning Monday, August 20, motorists in Crookston will encounter a detour of the Highway 75 bypass, between County Road 9 and Highway 2. The road will be closed as crews conduct bridge repairs, shoulder reconstruction, concrete repairs, and paving. Traffic will be detoured onto Highway 2 and old Highway 75, and local access will be maintained
