NORTHWEST MINNESOTA ARTS COUNCIL GRANT DEADLINES

The Northwest Minnesota Arts Council will offer several grants again in 2020.  Deadlines for the different grants range from October 1 through November 15. MEET THE NEW TEACHERS AT HIGHLAND AND WASHINGTON ELEMENTARY SCHOOLS

Crookston Public Schools has four new teachers in the elementary schools for the 2020-2021 school year.  The new teachers are below – ELIZABETH ERICKSON Elizabeth Erickson has been a long-term substitute teacher in the Crookston School District and comes back to Crookston after teaching preschool at Hawley last year.  “I’m from Barnesville originally,” said Erickson.

POLK COUNTY AND KROX LISTENING AREA COVID-19 INFORMATION (SEPTEMBER 3)

MN REPORTS 7 DEATHS, 1,047 NEW COVID-19 CASES INCLUDING 7 IN POLK COUNTY

The Minnesota Department of Health is reporting 1,047 new cases of COVID-19 and seven additional deaths. There were seven new cases reported in Polk County for a total of 211 cases in the county since the start of the pandemic. The 1,047 positive results came from 13,926 completed tests for a 7.5 percent positive rate.

NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE GIVES PEAK WIND GUSTS FROM WEDNESDAY THUNDER STORMS

The National Weather Service in Grand Forks has updated the peak wind gusts from the severe thunderstorm that moved through the area on Wednesday night.  The strongest peak gust was 64 miles per hour at the Grand Forks weather station.  The Grand Forks Air Force base reported a gust of 59 miles per hour.
