The Crookston School Board will meet on Monday, September 28, at 5:00 p.m. in the choir/orchestra room at Crookston High School.
A feature program will be held to recognize school board members for School Board Appreciation Month, discuss the 2028 Washington, D.C. trip, and discuss the BARR program.
The consent agenda includes the approval of the August 24 regular meeting minutes. The board will also be asked to approve the current bills totaling $777,479.02 and the following personnel items –
The board will be asked to approve the resignations of Heather Michaelson, a paraprofessional at Crookston High School; Marianne Isaacs, a paraprofessional at Crookston High School; John Young, a paraprofessional at Crookston High School; Trisha Fuller, a paraprofessional at Crookston High School; and Kristin Young, a full-time substitute teacher at Crookston High School.
The board will be asked to approve employment agreements with Allison Portwood and Ashley Powell as paraprofessionals at Crookston High School.
The board will be asked to approve a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Kristine Stegman as a Title I teacher for the parochial schools.
The board will be asked to approve salary lane advance requests.
The board will be asked to accept $4,424.09 in donations, including $1,237.79 from the Crookston Pirate Boosters for the girls soccer program, $1,600 from the Crookston FFA Alumni for the greenhouse project, $100 from Harlow Grove for the industrial education program, $200.79 from the Crookston Pirate Boosters for the girls tennis program, and $1,285.51 from the Pirate Boosters for the boys soccer program.
Items on the main agenda include setting a date for the Truth in Taxation hearing, approving the 2026 preliminary levy payable in 2027, approving a community education variance for Superintendent Todd Selk, approving a revision to the Highland Elementary School handbook regarding fidget devices/laser pointers, approving fundraising requests, and approving the Washington, D.C. trip for junior high students for summer 2028.
