The University of Minnesota Crookston men’s golf team placed 12th at the J.R. Watkins Invitational in Lake City. The Golden Eagles shot rounds of 324 and 321 over the two-day tournament at The Jewel.
Connor Humble (So., Rosemount) and Ben Koisti (Sr. Lake Norden, S.D.) led UMC with 159’s. Ben Trostad (Fr., Crookston) shot a 161, Ethan Johnson (Sr., Roseau) turned in a 166, Ethan Magsam (Fr., Crookston) had a 173, and Ben Lord (Jr., Brunswick, Maine.) shot a 183.
Washburn University took home the team championship at the J.R. Watkins Invitational with a team score of 592. Washburn bested Minot State University by two strokes. Minot State‘s Leighton Bearchell shot a 142 to earn the individual medalist honors.
UMC returns to action August 29-30 at the Augustana Invitational at Elmwood Golf Course in Sioux Falls, S.D.
