The University of Minnesota Crookston men’s golf team placed seventh at the two day Augustana Invite at Elmwood Golf Course in Sioux Falls, S.D.
The Golden Eagles tallied a team score of 625 after carding scores of 315 and 310 for the tournament. Minnesota Crookston finished just 14 strokes behind Bemidji State University and Concordia University-St. Paul. The Golden Eagles bested Augustana University’s second team by 36 strokes.
UMC’s Ethan Magsam (Fr., Crookston) finished tied for 16th after shooting a 153. Connor Humble (So., Rosemount) shot a 154 to finish tied for 18th.
Ben Koisti (Sr., Lake Norden, S.D.) finished the tournament with a 157, Ben Trostad (Fr., Crookston) 162, Dylan Wenzel (Fr., Lino Lakes) 164, and Ben Lord (Jr., Brunswick, Maine.) a 168.
St. Cloud State University won the tournament with a cumulative score of 598. Bemidji State’s Brandon Nelson was the individual medalist after carding a 67 and 68. He beat out St. Cloud State’s Troy Ryynanen and Regan Steen by 10 strokes.
The Golden Eagles conclude the fall season October 8-9 at the Missouri Western University Central Region Invite in St. Joseph, Missouri.
