Vanessa Iris DeLeon – Obit

Vanessa Iris DeLeon, 21, of Grand Forks, ND, passed away in her residence Saturday evening, September 11, 2021.

Vanessa was born in Crookston on June 27, 2000, the 2nd of 4 children of Lalo and Jessica (Saiz) DeLeon. She attended Crookston High School, participated in all the girls’ sports, and enjoyed the friendships of her many teammates. Vanessa graduated as a member of the Class of 2018 and went on to attend Northland Community College, East Grand Forks, MN, majoring in Pharmacy Technology. After earning her Associate degree in 2019 Vanessa began working in the Pharmacy Department of Wall’s Medicine Center in Grand Forks, where she had been to the present time.

Vanessa loved all animals and it was not unusual for her to take in a stray or homeless dog or cat and provide a loving home for them. Her own pet dog, “Jack”, was her best buddy and they did everything together. Vanessa was adventurous and loved the outdoors, whether going camping and fishing or just being in touch with nature. Her passion was spending time with her family and sharing her love with everyone through her smile and laughter. Vanessa thought deeply and brought joy to all who were part of her life.

Vanessa is survived by her beloved Mom and Dad, Lalo and Jessica DeLeon of Crookston; her 3 brothers: Daniel, James, and Bryan all living with Mom and Dad at home; her boyfriend, Jacob Roesch of Crookston; grandparents, Lety and David Hernandez of Crookston; and aunt, Sara Hernandez, and nephew, Liam, of Crookston. Treasured be the memory of Vanessa Iris DeLeon.
