GRAND FORKS MAN ARRESTED FOR AGGRAVATED ASSAULT FOLLOWING TUESDAY MORNING STABBING

On Tuesday, February 26 at approximately 10:48 am, Grand Forks Police officers were dispatched to an apartment complex in the 1100 block of N. 39th St. for a possible physical altercation between a male and a female.  Upon arrival, it was determined that a female subject, a 29-year-old Grand Forks resident, had been stabbed, and a further police investigation showed that a male subject, Jeremie Castoreno (a 36-year-old Grand Forks resident) had committed the act.  The female was transported to Altru Hospital via ambulance, the exact extent of her injuries are unknown.  Castoreno was arrested for Aggravated Assault, as well as an outstanding warrant for Simple Assault.  Castoreno and the female do know each other, and there is not believed to be any threat to the general public.  The Police Department was assisted by Altru Ambulance and the Grand Forks Fire Department.
