3 PIRATE WRESTLERS ARE RANKED, CADEN OSBORN BREAKS BOYS BASKETBALL REBOUNDS IN A GAME RECORD

Crookston Pirate Boys Basketball beat Climax-Fisher on Thursday night behind Caden Osborn’s 20 points and 22 rebounds.  After review of the Pirate Boys Basketball game video, coach Greg Garmen tabulated 22 rebounds for Caden Osborn, which set a school record, breaking Emanuel McCullough’s 21 set in the 2013-14 season. “Caden has been rebounding well all season long and he has nine games with over 13 rebounds so far this season.  Good for Caden and good for the team when he is rebounding like that,” said Coach Garmen. “His arms are a bit longer than most people 6’2 and he has good timing, good hands and has a good knack for finding boards.”

The Crookston Pirate Wrestling team found out they had three top-10 ranked wrestlers in the latest State Wrestling polls.  Zach Brown and Ethan Bowman remained in the top 10 and Ethan Boll cracked the top 10 for the first time.
Zach Brown (a junior) is ranked #3 at 120 pounds.
Ethan Bowman (a freshman) is ranked #9 at 113 pounds.
Ethan Boll (a freshman) is ranked #9 at 182 pounds.

It is the first time Coach Wes Hanson can remember the Pirates have had three ranked wrestlers. “Zach Brown being a fourth-place finisher at state last year obviously puts his name on the map, deserving so,” said Coach Hanson. “Ethan Bowman and Ethan Boll have fought their way up the rankings and the notable tournament for them was the Big Bear where they beat notable opponents and they each beat two kids that were in the rankings and people took notice.”
