#8 RANKED WAYNE STATE (NEBRASKA) MAKES QUICK WORK IN A 3-0 WIN OVER UMC ON SENIOR DAY

Wayne State (Nebraska) showed why they are ranked in the top 10 in the NCAA Division II Volleyball polls as they quickly defeated the University of Minnesota Crookston Golden Eagles 3-0, 25-15, 25-13, 25-12 on Senior Day in Crookston.
UMC played the first game pretty well half way through tailing 12-11 but the Wildcats scored 13 of the next 17 points to win 25-15. In the second game, the Golden Eagles were leading 7-5 after a Bailey Schaefer (Fresh-Brandon-Evansville) kill and again, Wayne State won 20 of the next 26 points to claim game two 25-13. In the third set the Wildcats built a 7-0 lead and rolled to a 25-12 win and won the match 3-0.
For UMC, it was their 18th loss in a row to put them at 1-22 on the season and 0-18 in the Northern Sun Conference. Wayne State improves to 20-6 overall and 13-5 in the tight race in the conference. It was Senior Day for UMC and honored two seniors on the squad, Bailey Mulcahy (Fertile) and Lauren Wallace (Bloomington). The Golden Eagles have two games left of their season and both on the road on Friday they’ll be at Southwest Minnesota State in Marshall and finish it off at the University of Sioux Falls later in the afternoon on Saturday.
