9th ANNUAL NORTHER VALLEY POLICE WEEK MEMORIAL SERVICE

The public is invited to a memorial service honoring fallen law enforcement officers from the Northern Red River Valley. The service will be held on the front lawn of the Grand Forks County Courthouse at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, May 14th, 2019.

In 1962, President John F. Kennedy signed a proclamation which designated May 15th as Peace Officers Memorial Day and the week in which that date falls as Police Week.

Local and state law enforcement officers from North Dakota and Minnesota agencies, federal law enforcement, the US Air Force and the Royal Canadian Mounted Police will be participating in this event where we will be honoring fallen law enforcement officers from the Northern Red River Valley.

Participants: The keynote speaker will be retired Grand Forks County Sheriff Bob Rost. The ceremony will also be attended by community officials and officers from several law enforcement agencies.

The ceremony will include: presentation of the colors, reading of roll call for fallen officers, a 21 gun-salute, Flag Folding, helicopter fly-over (weather permitting) and more.
