KROX has learned that Crookston Pirate Football Coach Scott Butt has resigned after eight years at the helm where he compiled a record of 23-51.
KROX received the following notice from Crookston
School District Superintendent Jeremy Olson. “Scott Butt has resigned as the Head Football Coach at Crookston High School. This resignation will not be official until acted on by the School Board at the January 27, 2019, School Board Meeting.”
The Pirate’s best record under Butt was three seasons ago when they went 7-3 behind Cade Salentine, who is now playing football at the University of North Dakota.
Butt also resigned his duties as morning weight room supervisor and the morning weight room will be closed until further notice.
Before coaching at Crookston High School, Butt was a member of the University of Minnesota Crookston Golden Eagle coaching staff before taking a job as Crookston Park and Rec Supervisor, a job he currently holds.
KROX’s Chris Fee talked with Coach Butt and he said he isn’t ready to talk on the record yet. When he is ready to talk, we will pass his comments along.
