The Crookston City Council will meet Monday, January 13 at 7:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers at City Hall. All items for the night are on the consent agenda.
The consent agenda includes approving the December 23 meeting minutes, approving bills and disbursements totaling $578,738.68, accepting a donation of $2,125 for Kids First, appointing Corky Reynolds as City Attorney for 2020, appointing Brady Martz & Associates as the City Auditing Firm for 2020, and designating the Crookston Times as the official newspaper for 2020.
Additional resolutions for on-sale and Sunday on-sale liquor licenses for El Gordito Market, and 3.2 Malt Liquor and wine license with strong beer authorization for Daroos Pizza. There is also a resolution to approve 2020 license renewals for tobacco for Walmart, Casey’s General Store, Holiday, and Superpumper, and to approve the theatre license renewal for the Grand Theater. A resolution ordering the preparation of preliminary engineer’s report for 2020 street improvements, a resolution designating depositories for public funds, and to dispose of surplus property.
The Ways & Means Committee will meet immediately following the City Council meeting. The agenda includes awarding a bid to Lyle Wilkens to construct an access point on the Gentilly Bridge on CSAH 11, discussion on the sanitation proposal, Mayoral appointment, and a date selection for Ward 6 Interviews.
The committee will also review the proposed board and commission appointments from Acting/Vice-Mayor Dale Stainbrook. Those include Andy Hall to the Chamber and Visitor’s Bureau, David Hennings, and Brigette Burzette-DeLeon to the Park Board, Barry Bingham to fill the unexpired term of Rand Hughes on the Planning Commission and reappointing Terri Noah to the Library Board.
