PATTY DILLABOUGH RESIGNS AS GOLDEN LINK MANAGER, BOARD RESTRUCTURING POSITION

The Golden Link Senior Center is looking for a new manager for the first time in over 20 years as Patty Dillabough resigned her position last week.  Rand Hughes, Board of Directors President, said he couldn’t comment on the resignation beyond a prepared statement advised by the Golden Link’s lawyers.  The statement reads:

The Golden Link Board of Directors released the following statement, “Our former Manager, Patty Dillabough, has decided to resign her position with the Golden Link Senior Center.  We appreciated her talents over the years, and wish her the best in her future endeavors.”

Dillabough gave the following statement via email regarding her resignation –  “Concerning my resignation from the Link and the call, Sorry I was kind of busy and did not call back.  There is not a story. I signed a new contract and I am unable to complete everything in the contract. This is a wonderful place to work but a younger person will do a better job. The company is reorganizing jobs with new committees and new positions. The Golden Link has been a wonderful job and I enjoyed it very much. The members are wonderful and I hope everyone continues to enjoy the senior center. It’s a great place for all seniors to gather and enjoy. It is just time for me to move on and let new ideas in. Thanks for your concern.”

Hughes did say the board was going to use the change as an opportunity to restructure the Senior Center with board members leading committees for things like trips and grant writing instead of having the manager do it all.  “Some of the differences will be doing is we’ve created some committees,” said Hughes.  “Instead of having one person doing what Patty used to do, we’re going to have a trips committee, for instance.  We’ll have a gal, Gaye Wick, she’ll be doing that for the trips.  We’ll be having other committees like grant writing.  We’ll be having somebody looking and helping us secure funding for The Link.  We’re going to have a liaison committee, that somebody will be going between us and the city to get more funding maybe.  So, we’re trying to reorganize The Link different, more efficient maybe.”

The Golden Link is advertising a 35-hour per week manager position.  That advertisement for that position can be found on the KROX Job Shop.
