Cofe Will Reopen November 12

Cofe` has reopened under new ownership and will have a Grand Re-Opening featuring live music, door prizes, a baked chicken dinner and coffee of course on Saturday, November 10 from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. New owner Jerry Snow brings a classic Italian style espresso he roasts at his other, Chickadee Coffee Roasters based out of Detroit Lakes. Snow also roasts the coffee with Chickadee, including the whole bean retail coffee, four blends, and five single origins, that is available.
Cofe’s menu includes coffee, espresso, cold brew coffee with nitro coffee coming in January. “We’re doing all specialty grade organic coffee with our own in-house roast, signature express and drip coffee rotations,” said Snow. “We’ll talk more about the flavor of the coffee and the degree of roast and less about how much sugar you can put in coffee to drink it.”
When someone orders an espresso at Cofe` they can expect a classic Italian style espresso, cappuccino, and macchiato not the commercial versions ordered at chains. Snow explained “a classic espresso macchiato is a shot of espresso with a layer of steamed milk creating a foam on top when finished this drink is only a few ounces and which allow you to really enjoy the flavor of the espresso. When you order a 16-ounce macchiato you’re really getting a latte macchiato with most of the drink being steamed whole milk masking the shot of espresso.”

On the food side the menu will start out limited, but more will be added as Cofe`gets up to speed. “We’re going to offer soups and salads for the most part and adding more as we move forward,” said Snow. “We’ve got some really nice soups in a rotation, croissanwiches, breakfast burritos, sandwiches, soft drinks, and appetizers.” Snow said he intends to work with local producers to get fresh produce when available, “we’ll make our soups and sandwiches with as much local product as we can.”
In January, nitro coffee will be added to the menu. Nitro coffee is a cold brew concentrate infused with nitrogen through a beer tap system. Snow plans on having two varieties to start, a traditional black nitro with cold brew and spring water and a second brew that also infuses maple syrup and almond milk. Snow plans to add craft beer and artisan wine to the menu in March and currently has thoughts to operate evening hours during from fall to spring beginning in September 2019.
Cofe` will operate daily from 6:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and will re-open the drive-thru on Monday, November 12.
