POLK COUNTY TRANSFER STATION MAKES TEMPORARY OPERATIONAL CHANGES

Polk County Transfer Station is making a few operational changes in the wake of COVID-19 executive orders mandated by the governor.  The goal of the changes is to limit exposure by social distancing measures and limiting social interactions.  The staff is asking the public to only bring out wastes that are essential to get rid of such as bagged household trash.  They don’t want residents to use this stay at home time to clean out sheds and bring in extra nonessential loads.  The goal is to maintain operations that are essential and can be done only if social distancing can be maintained.

Polk County Transfer Station’s new operational hours are 7:00 am to 5:30 pm Monday – Friday.  Recycling materials may still be dropped off but ONLY during these business hours.  To maintain a safe workplace, they ask for the public’s cooperation so we can still provide essential services to Polk County residents.  For more information, please call Polk County Environmental Services at 218-281-6445.  Polk County Environmental Services reminds everyone of the recent Governors executive order to stay safe and stay home.
