The Crookston Ox Cart Days Kids Lemonade Stand Contest has been going on all week across Crookston. There have been quite a few ingenious ideas for unique stands. A gallery of the stands is below –
SKYLER BERG DONATES LEMONADE STAND EARNINGS TO FIRST RESPONDERS
Also this week, Crookston youth Skyler Berg donated his earnings from a previous lemonade stand to the Crookston Police Department, Crookston Fire Department, and Polk County K9 Program. Berg said he wanted to give the money because of all the things that have been going on with first responders. “I gave it to all the local first responders to help them out because there is a lot of stuff going on in the cities.”
Members of the police department, fire department, and sheriff’s office stopped by Berg’s lemonade stand this week for the Ox Cart Days contest to thank him for his donation. Crookston Fire Chief Tim Froeber said it was an appreciated donation. “We really want to thank you,” said Froeber. “And we very much appreciate the donation that you gave to the fire department, police department, and the sheriff’s department. That’s very noble of you to think of us in these times of need.”
Polk County Sheriff Jim Tadman was also appreciative of the hard work Berg put in and the donation. “I think it’s wonderful what Skyler did,” said Tadman. “When we talked about it, and he said to use it for the K9 program. I thought it was very nice. It’s got to be a lot of hard work, and we appreciate it.”
Police Chief Paul Biermaier thought Berg’s lemonade stand must’ve been one of the most profitable he’s heard of as Berg donated more than $250 to each organization. “We appreciate it,” said Biermaier. “And I don’t know if I’ve ever heard of a lemonade stand making as much money as yours did.”
Berg said it was a lot of hard work selling that much lemonade. Another stand this week outside Longtin Agency was also collecting for the Crookston Police Department. And members of both the Crookston Police Department and Polk County Sheriff’s Office also stopped there to thank the girls running the stand.
