WARREN MAN SUFFERS NON-LIFE THREATENING INJURIES IN WEDNESDAY CRASH

The Minnesota State Patrol reports that at 12:09 p.m. Wednesday they responded to a two-vehicle accident at the intersection of U.S. Highway 75 and Polk County Road 21. A 2017 Ford F-350, driven by Dinu Spinei, age 34, of Santa Rosa Beach, Florida, was westbound on Polk County Road 21 and slid through the stop sign and was struck on the passenger side by a 2011 Chevy Avalanche, driven southbound on Highway 75 by Philip Erwin Thompson, age 70, of Warren.

Thompson was transported by Crookston Area Ambulance to RiverView hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Both drivers were wearing seatbelts, airbags in both vehicles deployed, and the road conditions were reported as ice and snow-covered.  The Crookston Fire Department was also on scene.
